About us

Mosel doors - tradition, innovation and reliable service for your home

We make doors. But that is not all we do: together with your specialist store, we ensure that you obtain the door you want easily and reliably, right up to installation in your home. We value convenience and commitment, while eschewing complexity and indifference. As you can see: there’s more to a Mosel door that meets the eye …

Our origins

580 employees.
65 years of experience.
One family.

We have been producing doors in Trierweiler, near the Mosel, for more than 65 years. When newly qualified master carpenter Klaus Borne founded the company in 1956, he quickly began to specialise in one product: good doors. This clear focus has been maintained by our grown family business to this day: We appreciate simply impressive solutions, clear and direct communication.

The second and third generation of the family, Frank Borne, his sister Margret Borne-Müllerklein and his nephew Daniel Müllerklein, manages the family business today.

Our doors are manufactured exclusively in Germany by 580 employees within a space of some 93,000 m² at our factory in Trierweiler, near the Mosel.

Our product

Design.
Quality.
Both timeless.

We consider doors to be good when their design and quality stand the test of time: our door hinges, for instance, are opened and closed 100,000 times in a fatigue test. Our designs constantly set new standards: we were the first to develop the brightest white shades for doors that are perfectly matched to the most commonly sold wall paints: customers love our Polar white and many imitate it. Accolades that speak for themselves.

Before a door leaves our factory, it is subjected to several checks at digital test stations and to the critical eye of our door experts.

Our production

Premium quality.
Minimum use of resources.
No compromises.

Taking our responsibility seriously

As a family-run company, we think in generations. This is why we attach special importance to climate protection and a responsible approach to the use of resources. We have already reduced our CO2 emissions by 55 per cent through in-house carbon-neutral electricity and heat generation. We even feed our surpluses into the local power grid.

Our doors are produced particularly sustainably, with carbonneutral electricity and heating generated on-premises.

Doing more

We constantly set the bar higher. In our efforts to take sustainability to new heights, we continue to reduce our carbon footprint and consumption of resources. The wood for our doors comes from sustainably managed forests. Supply channels are optimised by sourcing almost all raw materials and parts from Germany, many of them locally. We are gradually converting our vehicle fleet to electric cars with on-site charger stations. The paint we use is low-pollutant; its minimum emission values are certified regularly by TÜV, the German inspection body. We avoid plastic as far as possible and deliver our doors in sturdy recycled cardboard packaging.

Most of our products are TÜV-certified.

Our service

Direct.
Personal.
Attentive.

Our commitment continues after delivery. We want you to feel completely – and permanently – satisfied. In our view, on the other side of every good door is a reliable, experienced partner. This is why Mosel doors are exclusively available from specialist shops, where expert advice is guaranteed by local professionals.

Local experts assist you from taking measurements, ordering to delivery and installation – opening the door to reliable and convenient service all round.
